Donald Campo

Don Campo is executive vice president and Chief Operating Officer of Bluescape Resources Company. In his role, he is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company including well construction and production.

Campo is an industry and technical leader in well construction for the oil and gas sector. In his 32 years in the industry he has worked as a field engineer, area field salesmen, floor man, derrick man, drilling rig equipment engineer, drilling engineer, senior drilling engineer, drilling rig manager, auditor, production supervisor, staff drilling engineer, regional technology implementation engineer and subject matter expert for drilling with casing and liners, expandable liner hangers and tubular expansion. Campo has worked domestically, international, onshore, offshore, office based, rig based in Drilling, Completion and Production operations. He has drilled approximately 1949 exploration, development and research trial wells in his 28 ½ year career with Shell Oil. Don has authored numerous industry technical papers and has made presentations at numerous industry technical conferences. Campo has collaborated on the design of several new tech drilling tools in the area of tubular expansion, casing drilling and liner drilling. Don holds three patents on tubular expansion with several (7) more pending.

Campo has a long, diverse background with hands on experience in E & P. Campo’s personal conviction, drive, skill and experience have resulted in record low cost, high value drilling performance in virtually all geographic area he has worked as an employee of Shell Oil and its affiliates. He has distinguished himself as a design engineer of new technology tools and techniques for cutting edge drilling and completion. His vision, stewardship and nurturing leadership has resulted in breakthrough performance in drilling operations and technology.

A native of California, Campo graduated from University of Missouri-Columbia with a bachelor of science in mechanical and aerospace engineering. He and his wife have two adult daughters and live in Dallas.
